Un Fête dans le Papier

There are so many things I love about fashion, but one of things I love the most is being able to be carried away into your own story. Whether you've added some red lipstick for a dash of glamour, had a brush with some bunnies ears, or even donned a pair of big 70's sunnies, we've all played 'dress up' at some time during our lives!

So you can imagine my delight when I went to the opening night of The Paper Mills exhibition called Un Fête dans le Papier (A Feast On Paper) which took dressing up to a whole new level. I already love TPM because it's hidden smack bang in the middle of the CBD and adds a little pizazz to an otherwise concrete space, but their exhibitions are getting more and more "gasp!" worthy.

Un Fête dans le Papier is an exhibition made entirely out of paper (even the piano!), and to kick it off they had a massive feast with a cast dressed to the nines in the most amazing black & white costumes. It was if I'd walked down a seemingly innocent city lane and straight into a crazy Alice in Wonderland/Marie Antoinette/Mardi Gras dream- and I loved every second of it. I hope you like the photos.

So lovelies, next time you're looking into that wardrobe of yours I hope this dream gives you some inspiration. Whether it be the hard-to-deny-coolness of a black and white palette, or a fabulous statement piece, remember dressing up isn't just for kids, tell your own story!

  1. how fun! i love these images, and i agree, dressing up is not just for kids. how are we supposed to grow creatively if we're not pushing the boundaries we accidentally place on ourselves over time?
