In case you didn't know, we're currently in full swing of the 2011 L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. What's interesting this year (apart from the fabulous fashion of course!) is the "cultural" program they've curated as part of the festival.

Part of this program is a wonderful exhibition called Drawn From Fashion where some of Australia's most talented illustrators use images from previous fashion weeks to create their own original works. The results I've seen so far are beautiful and what I love most is the individual style of each of the artists. Perhaps this is a case of art inspiring fashion/fashion inspiring art, and back again?

It's a fabulous and we have to say we're happy campers! Our Penelope cocktail dress has been featured in Belgium-based LABEL Magazine under their industry guide. If the picture's too tiny, here's the text written by Vincent.

Playing with proportions

One of the amazing things clothes are capable of is creating the illusion of the perfect body. This dress on Stylesofia.com is a good example of how to do that. The lower part hides the imperfections of your tummy, while the high belt creates a small waste and makes your legs look longer. The asymmetrical cut on the upper part subtly draws the attention to your cleavage without revealing too much.
